1. DevMate services
DevMate provides professional services that may include:
- Technology consulting and advisory services
- Small-business and software-startup assessments
- Technical health checks and reviews
- Mock interviews and coaching sessions
- CV and LinkedIn profile reviews
- Workshops and findings reviews
- Other services agreed with a customer in writing
These services involve reserving professional time and may require personalized work before delivery. Refund eligibility therefore depends on the type of service and how much work has already been completed.
2. Cancelling or rescheduling a booked session
This section applies to scheduled services such as mock interviews, consultations, workshops, coaching sessions, and findings reviews.
More than 48 hours before the session
You may:
- Cancel the session and request a full refund; or
- Reschedule the session once without an additional charge.
Between 24 and 48 hours before the session
You may:
- Reschedule the session once without an additional charge; or
- Cancel the session and receive a refund of 50% of the amount paid.
Less than 24 hours before the session
Payments are normally non-refundable because the time has been reserved and may not reasonably be reassigned.
DevMate may permit rescheduling in exceptional circumstances, such as a medical emergency, bereavement, or significant technical disruption. Any exception will be considered reasonably and individually.
3. Late arrival and failure to attend
If you arrive late, the session may still end at its originally scheduled time.
If you do not attend and have not contacted DevMate before the session, the booking will be treated as a no-show. No-show payments are normally non-refundable, and the session will not automatically be rescheduled.
If DevMate cannot reasonably conduct the session because you did not provide agreed information, access, or materials on time, the booking may be treated as a late cancellation.
4. CV, LinkedIn, and other document-review services
You may cancel a document-review service for a full refund if DevMate has not started reviewing your materials.
Once work has begun:
- DevMate may deduct a reasonable amount for work already completed.
- Any remaining unused amount will be refunded.
Once the agreed review or deliverable has been supplied, a refund is not normally available merely because you change your mind or disagree with a professional assessment, recommendation, or opinion.
If the delivered work materially differs from the agreed scope, please contact DevMate. DevMate will first attempt to correct, complete, or reperform the affected work within a reasonable period.
If that is not reasonably possible, DevMate may provide an appropriate partial or full refund.
5. Consulting, assessments, and project-based engagements
Cancellation terms contained in an accepted proposal, statement of work, or service agreement will apply to that engagement.
Where no separate cancellation terms have been agreed:
- You may cancel before work begins and receive a full refund.
- If work has begun, DevMate may charge for work reasonably completed up to the cancellation date.
- Approved third-party costs or other non-recoverable expenses incurred specifically for the engagement may be deducted.
- Any remaining unused prepaid amount will be refunded.
DevMate will provide a reasonable explanation of any deduction when responding to the cancellation request.
6. Completed services
A completed service is not refundable solely because:
- You change your mind.
- You do not implement the recommendations.
- You disagree with an assessment or professional opinion.
- You expected a result that DevMate did not guarantee.
- An external decision or event does not produce your preferred outcome.
DevMate does not guarantee financial results, business performance, employment, interviews, job offers, technical outcomes, or other results outside DevMate’s reasonable control.
Nothing in this policy limits your rights where a service was not supplied with reasonable care, materially differed from its agreed description, or where a refund or another remedy is required under applicable law.
7. Cancellation by DevMate
If DevMate cancels a service before it is delivered, you may choose:
- A full refund; or
- A mutually agreed replacement date.
If DevMate cannot complete a project-based engagement, you will receive a refund for the undelivered portion. Work already properly completed and supplied may be deducted.
DevMate is not responsible for indirect losses arising from a cancellation, except where such responsibility cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Technical, duplicate, and incorrect payments
Please contact DevMate if:
- You were charged more than once for the same service.
- The payment amount was incorrect.
- A payment succeeded but the booking was not confirmed.
- You believe a payment was made without your authorization.
Verified duplicate or incorrect charges will be refunded.
Suspected unauthorized payments may also need to be investigated by the payment provider or issuing bank. DevMate may request reasonable information required to identify the transaction and assist with the investigation.
Never send card numbers, card security codes, passwords, or online-banking credentials to DevMate.
9. How to request a cancellation or refund
Send your request to admin@devmate.consulting and include:
- Your full name
- The email address used for the purchase
- The booking, invoice, enquiry, or payment reference
- The service purchased
- The requested cancellation or rescheduling date
- A brief explanation of the request
Please send the request as soon as possible. The time at which DevMate receives the email will be used to determine the applicable cancellation period.
DevMate may ask for additional information where reasonably required to confirm the payment or understand the request.
10. Refund method and processing time
Approved refunds will normally be returned through the original payment method.
DevMate will normally initiate an approved refund within seven business days. Banks, card issuers, and payment providers may require additional time to credit the amount to your account. DevMate cannot control those external processing times.
Any currency-conversion difference or external bank charge will be handled according to the rules of the relevant payment provider or bank, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Receiving a refund in a different currency may result in an amount that differs from the original payment because of exchange-rate movements or conversion charges.
11. Promotions and discounts
Unless stated otherwise, eligible refunds for discounted services will be based on the amount actually paid rather than the service’s standard price.
A promotional offer does not remove any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
12. Chargebacks and payment disputes
Please contact DevMate first if you believe a payment or service is incorrect. This gives DevMate an opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter promptly.
This does not prevent you from contacting your bank, payment provider, or an appropriate consumer-protection authority.
Nothing in this policy restricts any rights or remedies available under applicable law.
13. Changes to this policy
DevMate may update this policy when its services, payment methods, business practices, or legal obligations change.
The policy displayed when a purchase is made will normally apply to that purchase, unless a later change is required by law or provides more favourable terms to the customer.
The “Last updated” date at the beginning of this policy identifies the latest revision.
